On behalf of IW District 331 Executive Committee 2012-2013, I wish to extend our sincere greetings and good wishes to you. May you have a good Inner Wheel year ahead. Firstly, I would like to introduce to you IW District 331 Executive Committee for year 2012-2013:

Secondly, I would like to say that IIW Theme for this year ‘Be A Friend’ is an apt statement for Inner Wheel movement. Inner Wheel, first and foremost, is about friendship; friendship that lasts for years. As IIW President Carole Young says “Let us all aim to ‘Be A Friend’ and improve the lives of those we befriend, whether they are near to us, or far away”.

Thirdly, some of you may have known that there is no any particular chosen Inner Wheel International Project for 2012-2015. Instead, every Club will decide for themselves what their project will be. Anything that fits under the “umbrella” of “Happier Futures – Helping Children Around the World Now” is encouraged. It may be something in your local area, or it might be something overseas. It was also agreed at the IIW Convention last April that it is important with every project our Inner Wheel profile is raised. Inner Wheel must come out of the shadows and be seen to be a working and vibrant organisation. There are several ways to do this; two of which are: involve the media at every opportunity and if your Club presents goods make sure (unless it is totally inappropriate) that there is a label or a sticker saying that it has been donated by Inner Wheel.

Another important subject that I would like to talk about is the amendment to your Club By-Laws under ‘membership’ clause. At the recent IIW Convention it was agreed to simplify & clarify categories of membership and to include full open membership. So please amend your Club’s By-Laws as soon as possible to take advantage of the new category of ‘open membership’. Below is the wording to be used under ‘Classes of membership’:

Lastly, I would like to inform that the joint-AGM of IW District 330 & District 331 will be held in Kuala Lumpur on 22-24 March 2013. IIW President Carole Young has agreed to be present at the AGM. I would encourage all members to attend this joint-AGM and take the opportunity to meet her and also meet up with friends in District 331 and District 330.
