On behalf of District 331 Executive Committee 2022-2023, I wish to extend our sincere greetings and good wishes to you.

Firstly, I would like to introduce to you District 331 Executive Committee for year 2022-2023:

Secondly, I would like to say that IIW President Zenaida’s theme for this year ‘Work Wonders’ is an apt theme to describe the Inner Wheel movement. Through Inner Wheel, we can be extremely effective in helping and improving the lives of the unfortunates within the community we live in or beyond.

Thirdly, I would also like to highlight the current theme of Inner Wheel Social Project campaign – ‘Strong Women, Stronger World’.  The campaign is specifically designed to address four areas: Health, Education, Opportunity and Empowerment of women. Health main focus is centred on extending female healthy life expectancy. Education focus is leveraged on inclusiveness and quality education, improvement of female literacy rate and reduction in the number of early marriages. Opportunity focus is on increasing women participation in labour force, helping them to get jobs or starting a business. Women Empowerment can be done by ensuring women’s participation and by giving equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making whether in politic, economy or public life. This empowerment can also be done by encouraging women to make decisions about their own healthcare, own earnings and investments.

Lastly and most importantly for all of us in District 331, is the extension work that we must carry out. There are now only five Clubs in the District, two of which have less than 10 members each. Do make extra efforts to increase your club membership. One way to do this is to hold discussions amongst club members on how this can be done and implement what have been agreed upon. Extension work is also crucial at the District level. The number of Clubs must be increased for the survival of District 331. The District Executive Committee will be working hard to form new Clubs this Inner Wheel year. On this note, assistance from Clubs and Club members will be sought once a place is identified for a new Inner Wheel Club to be formed.
