Another month has come and gone, and I'm pleased to share some updates with you.

During the month of September and October, we conducted two District Exco discussions, where we delved into a range of topics covering the administration of our District.

I am grateful for the valuable participations by all members of District Executive Committee and the insights provided by our National Representative, Datin Dr Ramani Subramaniam.

July 2023 has passed…August is almost coming to an end. Time flies so fast.

Up-date from D331 Executive Committee:

1. We had rolled out the “Enhancing the Club/District Experience Survey” Looking forward to receiving good responses for a meaningful survey result that may be useful for the furtherance of the Clubs and the District.
2. 1st DEXCO meeting was held Virtually on 29 July 2023. It was a very engaging meeting and look forward to a having a great year with the capable members of the DEXCO
3. District Extension Committee chaired by District Extension Chairman (DEC); Datin Gillian Lee has initiated the printing of Leaflet introducing Inner Wheel to potential members.
4. Website update in progress. Again, the District Extension Committee has done the D331 a favour by updating the write-up on “About Us” Grateful and blessed with zeal and commitment by the DEC in driving this Committee.
5. Formalization of the various District Sub-Committees to assist the District 331:
   • D331 Constitution Committee: Chaired by PIIWBD Datuk Nancy Ho
   • D331 Extension Committee: Chaired by DEC Datin Gillian Lee
   • D331 Editorial Committee: Chaired by DE Cherylyn William Anyi
   • D331 Training Committee: Chaired by PIIWBD Datuk Nancy Ho
   • D331 Guidelines Publication Committee: Chaired by PNR Rokiah Staun
   • D331’s Participation in Manchester 19th Convention, May 2024: Chaired by PNR Rokiah Staun

On 22 July 2023, the District Chairman was invited as the Guest of Honour by the Inner Wheel Club of Kota Kinabalu (IWCKK) in conjunction with its 69th Installation Banquet. On 10 August, outing with “Never Quit Hikers” was a truly fulfilling and fun filled ventures.

So far, the journey has been the most exciting ones, cementing “Shine a Light” in the next chapters in D331.

My dear Inner Wheel Friends,

I am humbled and honoured to be the Chairman of District 331. This is the District made up of clubs from all over Borneo - Sabah and Sarawak. This District is rich in diversity, culture, heritage and history. I am grateful to you for entrusting me to be at the helm of this vibrant District for term 2023 - 2024.

I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the members who have graciously accepted the invitation to serve and continue to serve the District and the various clubs in the District. I am pleased to introduce the line-up of the District 331 Executive Committee (DEXC0) and District Committee - being the governing body of the District, as appended at Page 2 of this simple bulletin.

As you may have noticed, this bulletin is called "D331 Buzz". This bulletin shall serve as the platform for members to be updated on affairs of DEXC0 and the District Committee. In future bulletins ' I welcome contributions from all DEXC0 and District  Committee. This shall be coordinated by our lovely District Editor. The District Committee has agreed for the establishment of the Constitution Committee to review the existing District Constitution that governs the operations and conduct of the District. There might be other Sub-Committee to be set-up as part of the continuous progression of the Clubs and the District.
I have also scheduled a survey to be conducted using the "Google Form" platform during the first week of August. I am hoping that all DEXC0 members and District Committee members will be supportive of this and encourage members to take part in the survey. I anticipate receiving at least 103 responses by the third week of August, 2023. I am hopeful that this concerted and determined effort to collect responses and input will be successful. This may be of interest to DEXC0 as well as to the District Committee in order to plan for the future of the Clubs and to contribute directly to the sustainability and vitality of the District.

I am thrilled to meet all of you in the coming months. May we all "Shine a Light" and together, let's be proud, grateful and have a strong sense of belonging. With your support, we shall keep the District Flag flying high!

May we have an enjoyable, fulfilling and rewarding "Shine a Light" through 2023-2024 ahead.
